The Reformed Church in Glaris in Davos is an Evangelical - Reformed church under protection of the canton of Grisons .

History and equipment

The church was built around 1350 and was under the patronage of St. Nicholas . In 1613 immediately before the outbreak of the Bündner turmoil and in 1682 after a few decades of calming the confessional situation, the church was rebuilt.

The massive tower has a pointed helmet flattened at the bottom with a tent roof open to the bell chamber . The nave is characterized by asymmetrical extensions.

The narrow space inside meets a lateral gallery. A tightly packed uniform composition, which is typical for a reformed Predigtkirche forming backward in a niche under an arched offset organ , the prefix font , also known as communion table functions, and the right thereof brought sound capless pulpit . The organ was made by Georg Hammer from Schiers and installed in 1832.

Church organization

The Church of Glaris belongs to the Evangelical Reformed Church of Graubünden to the parish Davos Altein and thus to the Colloquium X Davos-Albula .
