Jenaz Reformed Church
The reformed church in Jenaz in Prättigau is a Protestant - reformed church building . It is under monument protection of the canton of Graubünden .
history
The church is first documented as a rectangular, Romanesque building in the first half of the 12th century under the patronage of Peter . In the pre-Reformation period, in 1483, the choir was rebuilt and in 1485 the nave was extended to a nave . During these years, the church tower - atypical for the Prättigau - was erected south of the building to serve as protection against the ever-threatening reef descents .
Furnishing
Inside the church, the choir is characterized by a star vault and a sacrament niche with late Gothic style features . The organ is more recent, it was made in 1957. In the church interior, it corresponds to the baptismal font inserted in the center of the choir . According to the Reformed Graubünden custom, the Lord's Supper is also celebrated here.
Church organization
The Evangelical Reformed Regional Church of Graubünden runs Jenaz as an independent parish within the Colloquium IX Prättigau .
