Reformed Church Lüen
The Reformed Church in Lüen in Schanfigg is a Protestant - Reformed church under the monument of the canton of Grisons . It is famous for its wall paintings by the Waltensburg master .
History and equipment
The church was built in 1084 as a unified Romanesque building under the patronage of Zenon of Verona and was called St. Zeno until the Reformation . During the Reformation period, the frescoes from the early Gothic period were covered over due to the reformed ban on images . It was not exposed until 1926. The side walls depict scenes from the New Testament . Behind the flat pulpit , which stands on a stone base and does not have a sound cover , disciples and apostles can be seen. In the center of the interior of the church, which is covered by a barrel vault , there is an octagonal baptismal font .
Church organization
The Evangelical Reformed Regional Church of Graubünden leads Lüen, which forms a parish with Castiel and Calfreisen and is in a pastoral community with St. Peter-Pagig , Molinis and Peist , within the Colloquium VI Schanfigg-Churwalden .
