Reformed Church Luven

The Reformed Church in Luven in Foppa is a Protestant - Reformed church under the monument of the canton of Grisons . It was last restored in 1996.

History and equipment

There is first documentary evidence of a church under the patronage of St. Stephen at today's location 765, with uncertain sources as early as 744. Even in the pre-Reformation period, a new building was built in 1510 in the late Gothic style, which integrated the old Romanesque tower. This later received its distinctive red onion cap . The font in the center of the choir in the partly baroque interior of the church dates back to the 14th century. The open Bible with the Christ initials A and O, laid out on the pulpit or baptismal font, reminds of the adoption of the Reformation in the village in Luven in the municipal coat of arms .

Church organization

Luven is traditionally in pastoral fellowship with Flond and more recently also with Pitasch and Duvin . All of these parishes belong to the Colloquium I Ob dem Wald and, like this, are part of the Evangelical Reformed Church in Graubünden .
