Ulf Erdmann Ziegler (* 1959 in Neumünster ) is a German writer .

Life

Ziegler studied visual communication in Dortmund , later modern German literature , linguistics and psychology at the Free University in Berlin, graduating with a master's degree . In the early 1990s he worked as an art editor for taz . He published essayistic works on art and photography . His first novel, Hamburger Hochbahn , took first place on the SWR best list in April 2007 and was shortlisted for the Aspect Literature Prize . His novel Nothing White , published in 2012 , about the life path of a typographer looking for the perfect font, was shortlisted for the German Book Prize and at the same time on the shortlist for the Wilhelm Raabe Literature Prize in the same year. His 2014 novel And now you, Orlando! tells "of appearance and reality in glittering London of the Millennium". In 2018 the short story volume Scotland and other short stories followed .

Ziegler lives in Frankfurt am Main .
