The Reformed Church in Nufenen in Rheinwald is an Evangelical - Reformed church under the monument of the canton of Grisons . It has been a sermon church since the adoption of the Reformation around 1530, as evidenced by the stained glass window in the choir with a verse by Martin Luther (“ A strong castle is our God ”) .

History and equipment

From around 1300 to 1696, Nufenen and Hinterrhein formed a church unit, before Nufenen became independent until 1874. After that, both villages went together again. The church in Nufenen has existed since 1643, when the turmoil in Graubünden came to an end and the political and ecclesiastical situation in Graubünden calmed down and slowly consolidated.

The hardly plastered church tower has a distinctive onion dome . Inside the church, a pulpit without a sound cover dominates on the left side and a baptismal font in the middle of the choir, on which the Lord's Supper is also celebrated. The choir is separated from the nave by a segment arch .

Church organization

The Evangelical Reformed Regional Church of Graubünden runs Nufenen as the preaching place of the Rheinwald pastoral community within the Colloquium II Schams-Avers-Rheinwald-Moesa .
