History and equipment
Today's church is a new building by the Carinthian master builder Andreas Bühler from the pre-Reformation period from 1489 to 1490. The church tower with exposed masonry shows a Romanesque style and was last restored in 1986. Inside the church, in the choir , which is spanned by a reticulated vault, there is a peculiar, also Romanesque font , composed of two hemispheres. The pulpit with the sound cover goes back to the 17th century. The organ was built in 1981 by Orgelbau Kuhn AG .
In the early years of the Bündner turmoil from 1618 to 1620, the Scharans church was the sermon church of Jörg Jenatsch .
