The Reformed Church in Susch in the Lower Engadine is a Protestant - Reformed church under the monument of the canton of Grisons .

History and equipment

The present church is a late Gothic construction under the patronage of John (Romansh Jon , so San Jon still colloquially for the church) in the years before the Reformation about 1515, which on the north side of the facade an older Romanesque tower with tent roof and eight sound windows integrated.

The interior of the church is covered by a star vault . The choir shows a mural on its south side with motifs possibly of the apostles . The pulpit dates back to 1790, the gallery with its artistically carved parapet is from 1765. There are numerous epitaphs both in the choir and in the cemetery .

In 2015, there were major celebrations for the 500th anniversary of the church

Church organization

Susch is an independent parish in pastoral community with Zernez . The Evangelical Reformed Regional Church of Graubünden leads Susch within the Colloquium VIII Engiadina Bassa - Val Müstair .
