The Refuge de l'Arpont is a refuge located in the Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region . The refuge, located at an altitude of 2309  m , belongs to the administration of the Vanoise National Park .

history

The refuge before the renovation

The current building was erected in 1969. Before the refuge was built, there was a shepherd's dwelling that belonged to the Arnaud family from Termignon. The last major renovations were carried out in 2012 and 2013.

The hut is open from the beginning of June to mid-September. You can also camp near the hut for a fee.

Approach

The approach takes place a few hundred meters north of the center of Termignon . After crossing the Doron de Termignon over the bridge Pont du Chatellard, the approx. 3-hour ascent to the hut begins, during which you climb approx. 950 meters. After about 2 hours you reach the alpine pasture called Mont. From there you take the path that is part of the GR 5 .

Tour possibilities

The Refuge du Col de la Vanoise refuge can be reached via a 13 km high path . For this connection you should calculate 8 hours including a rest.
