The cabin is equipped with gas, heating, blankets and cooking utensils.

history

It was built in 1902 just a few meters from the Col de la Vanoise and is the oldest refuge in the Vanoise massif . It's also the most popular. A second building was added in the 1970s to accommodate the growing number of visitors to the property. In the summer of 2013, another building was built to replace the one built in the 1970s. The historic building is intended for caretakers. The hut was initially called "Refuge Félix Faure", in honor of Félix Faure, the former President of France , who crossed the pass during military maneuvers in 1897 and then renamed it "Vanoise Refuge".
