Reggie Bagala

Reggie Paul Bagala (born July 8, 1965 in Cut Off , Lafourche Parish , Louisiana , † April 9, 2020 in Raceland , Lafourche Parish, Louisiana) was an American politician ( Republican Party ). He was most recently a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives .

Life

Bagala attended South Lafourche High School . After graduating from high school in 1983, he studied at Louisiana State University , where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in political science . From 1989 to 1992 Bagala ran his own political consulting company and between 1992 and 2013 he worked for various small companies in Louisiana in the management and as an account manager . In 2014 he moved from the private sector to the public sector. From 2014 to 2016 he was Director of the Office for Community Service in the Administration of Lafourche Parish, from 2016 to 2017 he was Lafourche Parish administrator and from 2017 was internal auditor of the Lafourche Parish Council .

In 2019 he was elected to the Louisiana House of Representatives for the 54th district . He took office on January 3, 2020.

During the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States , he was admitted to the Ochsner St. Anne Hospital in Raceland in late March 2020. There he died on April 9 of the consequences of a SARS-CoV-2 infection. As governor of Louisiana, John Bel Edwards ordered mourning flags to commemorate Bagala on April 10, 2020 .

Bagala was married and had a son.
