Government of Viliam Široký III
The term of office of the third government of Viliam Široký in Czechoslovakia , led by Prime Minister Viliam Široký , ran from July 11, 1960 to September 20, 1963. It replaced the Viliam Široký II government and was replaced by the Jozef Lenárt government .
Government formation, program
The new National Assembly, elected in June 1960, approved a new constitution for Czechoslovakia on July 11, 1960, which also necessitated a new government, which was led by Viliam Široký as Prime Minister for the third time . The new constitution postulated that the transition period was over and Czechoslovakia had reached the stage of socialism, which was also expressed in the new name of the state - Československá socialistická republika (Czechoslovak Socialist Republic). At the same time, the leading role of the communist party was set down in the constitution for the coming transition period to communism. This finally cemented the government's total subordination to the party.
After a meeting of the party's central committee at the end of May 1963, at which undesirable economic developments in particular were criticized, Jozef Lenárt's government followed suit .
