František Krajčír

František Krajčír (born June 12, 1913 in Vienna ; † May 16, 1986 ) was a Czechoslovak politician ( KPTsch ) and diplomat . He was Minister for Internal and Foreign Trade of Czechoslovakia and Ambassador of the ČSSR to the GDR .

Life

Krajčír was born into a Czech family in Vienna. He attended the elementary and community school . From 1927 to 1930 he was a student at a middle technical school. Between 1930 and 1933 he completed an apprenticeship as a bookseller and as a skilled worker in the antiquarian bookshop . From 1933 to 1937 he worked as an editor for a publishing house. In 1937 he joined the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia (KPTsch). From 1937 to 1945 he was head of the book trade in Horschitz . Between 1941 and 1945 he was active in the resistance against the Nazi occupation .

In 1945 he became chairman of the local national committee ( Czech Místní národní výbor ) of Hořice v Podkrkonoší (Horschitz), 1945/1946 he was a member of the state national committee ( Czech Zemský národní výbor ) of Bohemia . In May 1946 he was elected to the CPC Central Committee. 1947/1948 Krajčír was chairman of the Central Association for Trade ( Czech Ústřední svaz obchodu ), from February 1948 to January 1959 Minister for Internal Trade and then from January 1959 to January 1963 Minister for Foreign Trade of Czechoslovakia. From March 1959 to April 1968 Krajčír was also a member of the State Planning Commission and between January 1963 and April 1968 Deputy Prime Minister. From January 1963 to November 1965 he was chairman of the State Prize Committee, and from September 1963 to August 1968 he was a member of the Committee on Living Standards at the CPC Central Committee.

From January 1969 to October 1971 Krajčír was ambassador of the ČSSR in the GDR and then until 1978 first deputy foreign minister of the ČSSR.

From May 1948 to December 1968 Krajčír was also a member of the National Assembly, from January 1969 to November 1971 a member of the People's Chamber of the Federal Assembly of the ČSSR.
