Regina Kittler (born September 16, 1955 in Halle (Saale) ) is a German politician .

Life

Kittler grew up in Prenzlauer Berg . After graduating from EOS “Paul Oestreich” in Berlin-Weißensee in 1974 , she studied pedagogy ( teaching degree for mathematics and geography ) at the University of Education in Dresden until 1978 . From 1978 to 2011 she worked as a teacher in Berlin-Marzahn , since 2003 as a teacher .

In 1973 she became a member of the SED. From 1991 to 1998 she was deputy district chairman of the PDS Marzahn.

From 1999 to 2011 she was a member of the Marzahn-Hellersdorf District Assembly , where she was deputy parliamentary group leader and budgetary spokeswoman for the left-wing parliamentary group as well as chairing the committees for human resources and administration and settlement areas and transport.

On September 18, 2011, Kittler succeeded in moving into the Berlin House of Representatives in the constituency of Marzahn-Hellersdorf 4 as a member of the Die Linke party . There she was a member of the Petitions Committee and the Committee on Education, Youth and Family. Education policy spokeswoman for the Die Linke parliamentary group. Since March 2014 she has been a member of the parliamentary committee of Die Linke. In the 2016 election to the Berlin House of Representatives , she was able to enter the House of Representatives on her party's state list. She is again a member of the parliamentary group's executive committee and spokesperson for education and cultural policy as well as a member of the education / youth and culture committees (representing sport).
