The Reißeckhütte is an Alpine Club hut of the Austrian Mountain Club section of the PES . It lies at an altitude of 2287 m above sea level. A. in the Reißeck group directly below the dam of the Great Mühldorfer See , an annual storage facility of the Reißeck-Kreuzeck power plant group .
history
The Reißeckhütte was built in 1908 as a starting point for the alpine development of the Reißeck group. With the construction of the storage facilities for the power plant in the 1950s, the construction of the Reißeck-Höhenbahn and the neighboring Sporthotel Reißeck ( 2340 m ), the tasks of the refuge had changed.
After the Reißeck-Höhenbahn stopped operating in 2014 and the Reißeck funicular has also been out of service since 2016, the number of visitors to the Reißeckhütte fell sharply, but the hut is still open in the summer months.

Approach
A walking time of 5½ hours is given for the footpath from Mühldorf ( 589 m ). The path leads along the Mühldorferbach and through the Klinzerschlucht gorge and was rarely used after the construction of the Reißeck-Höhenbahn, as the hut could be reached from Kolbnitz in a journey time of half an hour and a walking time of 10 minutes.

The self-catering hut of the Naturfreunde Adlerhorst ( 2335 m ) and the closed Sporthotel Reißeck ( 2340 m ) are in the immediate vicinity .
The hut is located on the Reißeck-Höhenweg , which connects it with the neighboring huts and is part of the Rupertiweg (Austrian long-distance hiking trail 10):
