Reich Labor Office
The Reich Labor Office was a Reich authority in the German Empire . It was established on October 4, 1918 by imperial decree and had its seat in Berlin's Luisenstrasse . His area of responsibility included the issues of social policy , for example labor market conditions , social insurance , occupational safety and health and welfare institutions , which were previously part of the Reichswirtschaftsamt , which was founded a year earlier . He was headed by a State Secretary who was subordinate to the Reich Chancellor - at that time Prince Max von Baden .

Due to the emergence of the Weimar Republic , the Reich Labor Office did not last long. It was replaced by the Reich Ministry of Labor in 1919 , and its State Secretary Gustav Bauer took over the post of Labor Minister.
