The ReidBuilt Homes Edmonton Open 2016 took place November 23-26 , 2016 in Edmonton , Canada . The men's squash tournament was part of the PSA World Tour 2016/17 and belonged to the PSA 35 category .

Last year's winner was Karim Abdel Gawad , who did not participate again.

The field of participants in the men's competition consisted of 16 players, four of which were starting places for qualifiers. Per Wildcard got Nick Sachvie a spot in the main draw.

Prize money and world ranking points

At the tournament, the following prize money and world ranking points were paid out or credited for reaching the respective round. Players who entered the main field from qualification received the specified qualification points in addition to those for reaching the respective round. Otherwise the amounts are not to be understood as cumulative. The total prize pool was $ 35,000.
