Drive- through system MobyDick Quick

As a wheel washing system , a device for cleaning the truck - tires upon leaving the construction site referred. This can be set stationary in the ground or placed mobile on the earth's surface. There are two types of wheel washers: roller and drive-through systems.

Roller and drive-through systems

With the roller systems, the truck drives onto the system and places the wheels between the rollers. The washing process is triggered by a starter bar. The wheel is automatically turned and cleaned by the water that sprays from many nozzles.

The advantage of a drive-through system is that the truck does not have to stop for cleaning. When the truck passes the light barrier at the entrance, the washing process is triggered. During the slow passage ( walking pace ), the tires and chassis are cleaned by water that sprays from many nozzles ( spray bars ). The washing area usually consists of hot-dip galvanized grating . The flexing of the gratings opens the profile of the tires and the splashing water cleans them. The first drive-through system for tire washing was developed in 1998 in Switzerland by the construction machinery manufacturer Frutiger and is used worldwide today.

The removed dirt is rinsed into the recycling tank for water treatment. After it has been set down on the bottom of the tank, it can be removed using an automatic scraper conveyor or lifted using a wheel loader. Flocculants can help accelerate the sedimentation process. The washing water separated from the dirt is ready for the next washing process (cycle).
