Reiner Burger (born March 4, 1969 in Konstanz ) is a German communication scientist and journalist .

Life

After graduating from high school, Burger did community service in a Catholic boarding school and completed a six-month internship at Südkurier . From 1991 to 1996 he studied journalism , history, politics and art history at the Catholic University of Eichstätt and at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. Burger was a scholarship holder of the state graduate program Bavaria and in 1998 he worked with Walter Hömberg at the Faculty of Linguistics and Literature at the KU with the thesis of Theodor Heuss as a journalist. Observer and interpreter of four epochs of German history to become Dr. phil. PhD.

Then he was a volunteer at the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung . After working in the newsroom of the FAZ, he was political correspondent for Saxony from 2001 to 2009 . Since 2009 he has been a correspondent for North Rhine-Westphalia .

He is married and has two children.
