Reiner Erben (born March 25, 1958 in Bobingen ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ).

Career

Erben attended the Hessenkolleg in Rüsselsheim from 1981, where he obtained his Abitur in 1983 through the second educational path. He studied political science, adult education and history in Mainz, Augsburg and Buenos Aires and graduated in 1991 from the University of Augsburg with a Magister Artium in political science.

From 1992 to 1998 he was a personal assistant in the parliamentary group of the Greens. He then worked for Claudia Roth in the Augsburg constituency for three years . In 2002 he joined the integration project Door to Door - Living and Living Together as a project manager , which advocates for more rights and opportunities for immigrants. He has been managing director there since 2004.

In 1992 he became a member of the board of the green district association in Augsburg. From 1994 to 1998 he was the spokesman for the city association. In 1997 he was elected to the Augsburg city council, re-elected in 2002 and 2008, where he was a member of the committees for economic development, real estate, environmental protection and nature conservation. During the rainbow reign he was vice chairman of the parliamentary group. After the local elections in 2008 he became parliamentary group leader of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen in the city council.

In the state elections in 2003 and 2008 as a direct candidate in the Augsburg-West constituency, he ran for the Bavarian state parliament without success . On May 16, 2013, he replaced the deceased Adi Sprinkart in the state parliament, which he only belonged to until October 7, 2013. Since May 2, 2014, Reiner Erben has been a professional city councilor in Augsburg for the environment, sustainability and migration.
