Reiner von Velen the Younger

Reiner von Velen (* in the 16th century; † 23 August 1561 ) was a canon in Münster .

Life

Origin and family

Reiner grew up as the son of Hermann von Velen and his wife Maria (Margaretha) von Morrien (1523–1596, daughter of Hereditary Marshal Gerhard Morrien ) together with his siblings

  • Adrian (around 1540 - after 1594, Canon in Münster and Osnabrück)
  • Johannes (1556–1616, canon in Münster and district administrator)
  • Alexander (1556–1630, court marshal and official drove)
  • Hermann (1544–1611, court marshal, canon and official coroner)
  • Reiner († 1575, cathedral vicar, Vicedominus)

as well as Elisabeth, Sophia, Anna and Agnes (all canons) in the Westphalian noble family von Velen . His father had made sure that all of his children were given a prebend through skillful asset management .

Act

On January 4, 1558, Reiner came into the possession of the cathedral priest of Münster , who had become free through the death of Canon Herbert de Bar. Reiner Canon remained in Münster until his death. His prebend went to his brother Hermann.
