Adrian of Velen

Adrian von Velen (* around 1540 ; † after 1594 ) was canon in the Prince Diocese of Münster .

Life

Adrian von Velen came as the son of Hermann von Velen and his wife Maria (Margaretha) von Morrien (1523–1596) of the Westphalian noble family von Velen . His siblings were

  • Hermann (1544–1611, Court Marshal and Landdrost)
  • Johannes (1556–1616, canon in Münster and district administrator)
  • Alexander (1556–1630, court marshal and official drove)
  • Reiner († 1561, cathedral vicar, vice-dominus) and the canoness Elisabeth, Sophia, Anna and Agnes.

Adrian's father was able to provide all his children with a prebend through skillful wealth management . On December 21, 1588 Adrian took possession of Präbenden in Münster and Osnabrück . A year later, on 13 November 1589 which appointed him cathedral chapter for Vice Dominus . He waived on October 24, 1594 for health reasons on the Domkanonikat . In his will of January 7, 1594, he named his brothers Johannes and Hermann as executors .
