Reinhard Knittel

Reinhard Knittel (* 1960 in Bregenz ) is an Austrian Roman Catholic clergyman and Catholic theologian . He is Professor of Canon Law and Rector of the Philosophical-Theological University of St. Pölten .

Life

Reinhard Knittel began studying Catholic theology at the University of Innsbruck and continued it at the Pontifical Gregorian University.

In 1985 he was ordained a priest with the help of the angel work . Despite his membership at the time in the Order of Canon Regulars of the Holy Cross, Knittel was incardinated in the Diocese of Anápolis . He then continued his studies in Rome . At Centro Accademico della Santa Croce he acquired the licentiate and in 1995 at -Lateran University to Dr. theol. PhD . After further studies in canon law, he received his doctorate in canon law in 1997 .

In 1996 Knittel became a lecturer at the Philosophical-Theological University of St. Pölten , and in the same year he also became Rector ecclesiae of the Prandtauerkirche in St. Pölten. From 1998 to 2000 he was a substitute professor in the subject of ecclesiology at the Lateran University. In 2001 he was first vice-official and later official of the diocese of St. Pölten . In spring 2004 he described Freemasonry in Rudolf Schermann's monthly magazine Kirche In as the "Daughter of Satan ".

On October 1, 2009, Knittel became professor for canon law; In January 2013, Bishop Klaus Küng appointed him rector of the Philosophical-Theological University for the academic years 2013 to 2015 .
