Reinhard Münchmeyer

Reinhard Münchmeyer (born June 27, 1868 in Alvensleben , † after 1924) was a German Protestant clergyman and politician ( DVP ).

Life

Münchmeyer attended grammar school in Neuhaldensleben from 1880 to 1884 and then the Leibniz grammar school in Berlin , where he graduated from high school at Easter 1889. He then studied Protestant theology at the universities in Halle and Kiel . On July 26, 1894, he passed the first theological examination in Halle and worked from October 1894 to June 1897 as a vicar at the Bodelschwinghschen Anstalten Bethel . On January 25, 1896, he passed the second theological examination in Magdeburg and on June 16, 1897, he was ordained as a pastor there.

After his ordination, Münchmeyer went to Scotland and worked from 1897 to 1898 as a seaman's pastor in the district of the Firth of Forth . From February 14, 1898 he was pastor at the German Evangelical Congregation in Glasgow and seaman pastor of the Clyde District. He then returned to Germany, settled in Stettin and on July 1, 1904, he became a seafarer's pastor for the Baltic Sea ports and secretary of the committee of the German Evangelical Seamen's Mission in Berlin.

In addition to his professional activity, Münchmeyer published writings on the Seemannsmission and was co-editor of the Blätter für Seemannsmission . In addition, he held numerous honorary positions. He was chairman of the action committee of the German Evangelical Seemannsmission, deputy chairman of the association Stettiner Seemannsheim, chairman of the welfare office for small settlements in Stettin and the surrounding area, second chairman of the shooting association of the church in Pomerania as well as managing director of the committee for the promotion of the elementary school system in Pomerania.

Münchmeyer joined the German People's Party (DVP) after the November Revolution. He was deputy chairman of the DVP in Szczecin and a member of the city council. In February 1921 he was elected as a member of the Prussian state parliament, to which he was a member until 1924. In parliament he represented constituency 6 (Pomerania).
