Reinhard Scholzen

Reinhard Scholzen (* 1959 in Essen ) is a German historian and journalist .

He studied history and political science and received his doctorate in 1992 from the University of Trier with a thesis on Franz von Sickingen (published in 1996). Scholzen completed his training as a PR consultant, which included an internship at the Federal Border Police (BGS). As a thesis, he wrote a concept for the public relations work of the GSG 9.

He was one of the few journalists to have free admission to GSG 9 and in 1997 published the book about the well-known special unit of the Federal Police . In 2000 his documentation "SEK - Special Operations Commandos of the German Police" followed.
