from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Reinhard Zinkann (born March 13, 1869 - † July 14, 1939 ) was a German entrepreneur.

Life

Zinkann completed a commercial apprenticeship in a hardware wholesaler in Hagen. He then got a job as a sales traveler and became a customer service representative for dealers throughout Germany. On one of his trips in 1899, he went to Carl Miele in his hardware and building materials store in order to win him over as a new customer. Together they decided to make milk centrifuges . From this plan, the company Miele & Cie KG arose , today one of the largest manufacturers of household appliances, based in Gütersloh . Miele took on the design and manufacture, and Zinkann took over the sales of the machines.

In 1907, Zinkann moved with his family to Darmstadt , where he built up the sales organization in southern Germany.
