Reinhart Guib
Reinhart Guib (born November 26, 1962 in Mediasch ) is a Transylvanian-Saxon theologian and since December 12, 2010 Bishop of the Evangelical Church AB in Romania .
Life
Guib comes from a Transylvanian-Saxon family and was born in Mediasch in 1962. He studied Protestant theology in Sibiu from 1984 to 1989 and completed his vicariate in the parish of Fagarasch . In 1990 he got his first parish in Ticuşul Vechi (German-Tekes) - the parish seat of the Ticuşu community -, a small village in the Repser Land (now Kronstadt church district ). These years immediately after the Romanian Revolution of December 1989 were marked by the massive emigration of the Transylvanian Saxons to Germany, which also caused the number of members of the Protestant parishes to decline rapidly. Many pastors of the Evangelical Church also left Romania, but Reinhart Guib decided to stay.
In 1994 he was called to his hometown Medias as pastor. In 1995 he was also appointed dean of the Medias church district. This meant that she was also responsible for overseeing pastoral care in rural communities. The parishes in Baaßen , Bonnesdorf , Eibesdorf , Großprobstdorf , Kleinblasendorf , Bogeschdorf , Meschen , Nimesch and Sankt Martin were looked after directly by him, as there was no longer a pastor there. In 1997 he was elected to the state consistory. In addition to numerous visitations in the parishes, these years were characterized by the administration of church properties that had been expropriated during the communist era and have now been restituted , albeit hesitantly, by the Romanian state . Numerous legal proceedings and negotiations therefore had to be conducted. In 2000 he was elected President of the Mediascher KirchenBurgenSchutzVereins (KBSV). In 2002 he took over the management of the municipality of Mediasch. He was also involved in setting up the newly founded Gustav Adolf factory in Romania, of which he was first president from 2003 to 2009. Thanks to the diaspora experience he had gathered in rural areas and in community development in urban areas, he was appointed Episcopal Vicar in 2007 , the highest spiritual office in the regional church after the bishop.
On November 27, 2010 the regional church assembly elected Reinhart Guib as the new bishop of the Evangelical regional church AB in Romania. On December 12, 2010, he was introduced to his office during a festival service in Sibiu.
Reinhart Guib is married and has three children. Until he was appointed bishop, the family lived in the Medias fortified church .
