Reinhart Heinsdorff (born September 22, 1923 in Rimsting am Chiemsee; † March 26, 2002 in Friedberg-Ottmaring) was a German graphic artist , sculptor and medalist .
Life
From 1947 to 1952 Reinhart Heinstorff studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich under Hermann Kaspar . From 1953 to 1956 the master school for book printers followed, department of graphic design with Eduard Ege . From 1956 he worked as a freelance painter and designer. From 1986 to 1991 he held a teaching position at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich for coin and medal design.
In addition to a large number of stamps, he also designed the first two-mark piece in the politician series with the image of Konrad Adenauer . The value side was later used for the other coins in this series. Later he also designed the back of the German 10, 20 and 50 cent pieces. In addition, he created medals, pictures and sculptures. A part of his estate is in the museum in Wittelsbach Castle .

In 1988 he initiated together with the Hauptkonservatorin the National Coin Collection Munich , Ingrid Szeiklies-Weber , the artist district of Munich Medalists to "lift the medal to a new level of artistic creation."
