Reinhold Coenen (born December 31, 1941 in Ankum ; † October 4, 2011 there ) was a German politician ( CDU ) and a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

education and profession

Reinhold Coenen attended elementary and middle school in Ankum. After completing secondary school, he trained as a druggist and businessman. From 1962 he worked in his parents' retail business, which he took over in 1993. Since 1954 he has been involved in youth work and was chairman of the district youth association Osnabrück-Land. He was a Roman Catholic.

politics

Coenen had been a member of the Junge Union since 1965 and joined the CDU in 1968. He was chairman of the CDU community association Ankum-Eggermühlen-Kettenkamp and as treasurer a member of the board of the CDU district association Osnabrück-Land. Since 1972 Reinhold Coenen was councilor of the joint municipality of Bersenbrück . From November 1991 to November 2001 he worked here as mayor of the municipality. From 1976 to 1981 he was a member of the Ankum Municipality Council. From 2001 to 2006 he was mayor of Ankum municipality.

Reinhold Coenen was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament from 1994 until his death. There he was a member of the Committee for Home Affairs and Sport, since 2003 its chairman. Harald Noack replaced Coenen in the state parliament.

Other offices

Coenen was a member of the supervisory board of the Osnabrücker Land eG building cooperative, head of the Bersenbrück water association, a deputy member of the supervisory board of Niedersachsenpark GmbH, a member of the supervisory board of Alfsee GmbH and a member of the board of trustees of the Marienhospital Ankum-Bersenbrück.
