The joint municipality of Bersenbrück is a joint municipality and independent municipality in the north of the Osnabrück district in Lower Saxony .

geography

Geographical location

The combined community extends from the southeastern Artland into the northern Bramgau and includes large parts of the Ankumer Höhe . The Oldenburger Münsterland connects to the east .

The hare flows through the Samtgemeinde in a south-north direction. The Alfsee is located in the south of the integrated municipality .

Joint community structure

The integrated community includes the member communities Alfhausen , Ankum , Eggermühlen , Gehrde , Kettenkamp and Rieste as well as the city of Bersenbrück .

On March 11, 2012, the individual applicant Horst Baier was elected mayor of the municipality. He did not run for the 2020 mayoral election. The CDU candidate Michael Wernke from Holdorf prevailed against two independent candidates.

On the pointed roof a black weather vane pointing to the left. Under the gatehouse, coming out of the shield edge to the right and left, three white wavy bars each. "

Baths

Indoor swimming pools

There is a small indoor swimming pool each in Ankum and Alfhausen . The indoor swimming pool in Ankum am was built in 1969 with a 16 m × 8 m swimmer pool. This indoor pool is now in great need of renovation and is to be replaced by a new indoor pool with a pool size of 25 m × 12.5 m. This pool is to be operated by a pool company, under which the joint municipality operates the pool together with the municipal utility Haseenergie.

There is another small indoor swimming pool in Alfhausen, which is mainly used for schools and swimming lessons.

Outdoor pools

There is an outdoor swimming pool in Bersenbrück . In addition, the Dubbelausee at the Alfsee is used as a bathing lake.

fire Department

The joint municipality of Bersenbrück ensures fire protection in the member communities of the joint municipality through the provision of a volunteer fire brigade. There are currently seven volunteer fire brigades in the municipality:

  • Alfhausen volunteer fire brigade (founded in 1896), with a fire brigade diving group
  • Volunteer Fire Brigade Ankum (founded 1877)
  • Bersenbrück Volunteer Fire Brigade (founded 1913)
  • Talge volunteer fire brigade (district of Bersenbrück, founded in 1888)
  • Gehrde Volunteer Fire Brigade (founded 1902)
  • Kettenkamp Volunteer Fire Brigade (founded 1936)
  • Volunteer Fire Brigade Rieste (founded 1934)

Fire protection in Eggermühlen is ensured by the Ankum and Kettenkamp fire departments.
