The joint municipality of Fürstenau is a joint municipality in the northwest of the Osnabrück district in Lower Saxony .

geography

The integrated community includes the southwestern Artland with the northwestern part of the Ankumer Höhe and the eastern foothills of the Lingener Höhe . The Bramgau connects to the east, the Tecklenburger Land to the south and the Emsland to the west .

Joint community structure

The combined community includes the member communities Berge and Bippen and the city of Fürstenau .

mayor

Benno Trütken (SPD) is the full-time mayor of the joint community of Fürstenau. In the last mayoral election on May 25, 2014, he was elected with 50.4% of the vote. His opponent Ann Oldiges (CDU) received 49.6%. The turnout was 56.0%. Trütken took up his term in office on November 1, 2014, replacing the previous incumbent Peter Selter (CDU), who was no longer a candidate.
