Reinhold Geheeb (born December 23, 1872 in Geisa ; † February 7, 1939 in Munich ) was an employee of the Albert-Langen-Verlag in Munich. He also worked as the editor of the satirical magazine Simplicissimus .

Life

Geheeb, son of the botanist Adalbert Geheeb and the younger brother of the reform pedagogue Paul Geheeb was a doctor of Romance studies. Employed by Albert Langen Verlag since August 1, 1897 , he was the main editor of Simplicissimus from 1901 to 1924 alongside his friend Ludwig Thoma . He is said to have written numerous captions, but they are not identified by name. With this he shaped the style of Simplicissimus for years . In 1906, together with Korfiz Holm and the draftsmen, he became a partner in the newly founded Simplicissimus Verlag GmbH.

Like Korfiz Holm, Geheeb was a member of the board of trustees after Albert Langen's death in 1909, which led the book publisher on behalf of the underage heirs. In 1918 he became a partner in Albert Langen Verlag. In 1924 he left the editorial team and Simplicissimus Verlag GmbH. His successor was Hermann Sinsheimer . Geheeb then worked for Albert Langen literary publishing house.
