Reinhold Sebott

Reinhold Sebott SJ (born March 23, 1937 in Fulda ) is a German canon lawyer .

Life

After acquiring the licentiate in philosophy in Pullach near Munich in 1962 and the licentiate in theology in Sankt Georgen in 1968 - in between there was a two-year period as an educator in the boarding school of the Aloisius College of the Jesuits in Bonn-Bad Godesberg - with the study of canon law at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome . After acquiring the baccalaureate and licentiate in canon law, he was there in 1974 Doctor iuris canonici his doctorate in 1977 at the PTH Sankt Georgen with his work religious freedom and relations between church and state habilitation and in the same year there to Professor ordinarius appointed extraordinarius, 1981 Professor . In 1980 he also obtained the degree of Doctor theologiae at the Angelicum of the Dominicans in Rome .

His teaching in Canon Law in Sankt Georgen he began the winter semester 1973/74, in addition, he taught in Rome from 1975 to 1985 state church law at the Pontifical Gregorian University, in Latin - the Canon Law Faculty of the Gregorian was until 1991, the last faculty of the world where the courses were held in Latin. He was originally destined for the work in Rome and was only supposed to have his predecessor in Sankt Georgen, Johannes Günter Gerhartz , who had become Provincial of the Lower German Province in 1972 and the first Provincial of the North German Province of the Jesuits, which was united from the Lower and East German Province in 1978, represented. But when Johannes Günter Gerhartz was transferred to the General Curia in Rome as secretary of the Society of Jesus in 1983 , he assumed sole responsibility for the subject of canon law at the Philosophical-Theological University of Sankt Georgen. He retired at the end of the 2004/05 winter semester .
