The Rektoratskirche Wien-Margaretenstraße is part of a residential complex on Margaretenstraße in the 5th district of Margareten in Vienna . The Roman Catholic Rectorate Church of St. John the Baptist belongs to the City Deanery 4/5 in the Vicariate Vienna City of the Archdiocese of Vienna .

history

The Rector's Church, because it was integrated into a residential complex, was initially also known as the residential church, was consecrated in 1965 by Archbishop-Coadjutor Franz Jachym .

Church building

In the entrance area, the stone relief shows a cross with a vine and the tree of life by the sculptor Franz Barwig the Younger .

Furnishing

The wooden crucifix, the stone tabernacle and the figure of the Madonna and Child were created by Franz Barwig the Younger.
