The parish church of the Resurrection of Christ is located at Siebenbrunnenfeldgasse 22–24 in the 5th district of Margareten in Vienna . The Roman Catholic parish church of the Resurrection of Christ belongs to the City Deanery 4/5 in the Vicariate Vienna City of the Archdiocese of Vienna .

history

The church building according to the plans of the architect Josef Vytiska was integrated as a reinforced concrete structure into a residential complex from 1969 to 1971 and was consecrated in 1971.

architecture

The main facade with horizontal window slits is set back and has a slightly advanced, low bell tower with a mosaic cross by the mosaic artist Clarisse Praun in the main axis . The transversely oval church space under a suspended roof has two oval side chapels. Above the vestibule is the organ gallery. The altar area is raised by a semi-dome. The altar wall shows a mosaic of the Risen Christ by Clarisse Praun.

Furnishing

The baptismal font and the tabernacle were designed by the painter and enamel artist Gertrude Stöhr . The stations of the cross made of mosaic are by Hermann Bauch . A wooden figure Madonna and Child is by the sculptor Franz Barwig the Younger (1965). The organ was built by Orgelbau Walcker-Mayer Guntramsdorf in 1970/1971 , which has 15  stops on two manuals and a pedal .
