Vytautas Šlapikas

Vytautas Šlapikas (born April 30, 1973 in Ukmergė ) is a Lithuanian chess player .

Life

After graduating from the Ukmergė Middle School, Šlapikas graduated from the Aleksandras Stulginskis University with a degree in agriculture and became an agricultural economist. He then worked in the Department of Culture and Education of the Kaunas Municipality Administration . Later he was a chess trainer at the Ukmergė Sports School and an insurance advisor in the Ukmergė branch of the AB Lietuvos draudimas insurance company . From May 1, 2013 he was unemployed.

He has held the title of International Master since 1999 and took part in the 2000 Chess Olympiad in Istanbul with the Lithuanian national team. He played in the chess club "Juodasis Rikis" in Ukmergė. In 2014 he played for ŠK Margiris Kaunas . He also played correspondence chess .
