Rembau ( Minangkabau also: Pokan Ghombau , Arabic رمباو- Jawi ; Chinese 林茂 ) is a city in Daerah Rembau , in the state of Negeri Sembilan , Malaysia . The city is located about 25 km south of the state capital Seremban .
geography
The city lies in a wide valley between hills in the west and east ( Bukit Janjut ( ⊙ 262 m ), Bukit Bintongan ( ⊙ 839 m ) and Bukit Lechak ( ⊙ 814 m ).) About 7 km to the northwest is Senawang , a suburb of Negeri Sembilan. To the southeast is the nearest major city Tampin . The following settlements ( Kampung ) surround the city center:

The main arteries are the 1 , which runs from northwest to southeast through the city and into which the N 14 flows from the east in the local area of Kampung Pulau Bintongan , and the N 105 (Jalan Rembau-Pedas), which leads into the city from the north and flows into 1 there. A railway line runs through the city from north to south and has the Rembau Railway Station (Rembau Commuter Station) stop. The state-owned railway company Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) offers rides there (code: KB16 ) there are stops from KTM Intercity , KTM Komuter and KTM ETS .
population
Most of the inhabitants of Rembau are Minangkabau . The largest employers are agriculture, trade and government agencies. Many young men join the military or the police. There are numerous primary and secondary schools ( Dato 'Undang Hj. Muhamad Sharip Vocational School , Sekolah Menengah Teknik (ERT)), as well as Islamic schools ( Sekolah Menengah Agama Rembau ).
politics
Only two out of four seats in the Negeri Sembilan State Legislative Assembly in the Parliament of Malaysia (Parlimen Malaysia) are held by Rembau: Kota and Chembong .
religion
In the city there are several mosques ( Surau Taman Rembau Utama , Surau Al Huda , Surau Taman Sri Rembau ) and a Chinese temple ( Chinese Hokkien Temple ), directly at the train station.
