Seremban is the capital of the Malaysian state Negeri Sembilan with 372,931 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2005). The city is located in the District of Seremban, one of seven districts in Negeri Sembilan. Seremban should be officially declared a city on September 9, 2009. However, due to the lack of clarity in the legal situation, this did not happen. The city is administered by the Municipal Council ( Majlis Perbandaran Seremban ).
