Remigius Eyssen
Heinrich Remigius (Remy) Eyssen (born October 13, 1873 in Frankfurt am Main , † after 1938) was a German engineer and industrialist.
Life
Born as the son of the Frankfurt factory owner Georg Eyssen and Emma geb. Fries, Remigius Eyssen studied 8 semesters of engineering at the Technical Universities of Darmstadt and Berlin after attending the Realgymnasium in Frankfurt . In Darmstadt he became a member of the Corps Rhenania. After completing his studies, he initially worked for two years in various companies and then served as a one-year volunteer in the Grand Ducal Leib-Dragoon Regiment . In 1900 he joined his parents' company, JS Fries Sohn , as a partner , which he managed in the 6th generation from 1910. Fries Sohn was a company founded in Frankfurt in 1748 as an iron foundry specializing in iron structures, hoists, central heating and apparatus engineering.
Eyssen had been a member of the Frankfurt Chamber of Commerce and Industry since 1911. M.-Hanau and, for many years, a member of the presidency and treasurer of the Association of Central German Industrialists in the Reich Association of German Industry. During the First World War he was Rittmeister of the Landwehr cavalry on the western front. Since 1905 he was married to Helene Fester, daughter of the Privy Councilor Adolf Fester. Her son Adolf Georg was born in 1906.
Between 1935 and 1938 he made it possible for the later writer Valentin Senger to finish his apprenticeship as a technical draftsman after he had been prematurely dismissed from the air heating works.
