Remzie Osmani

Remzie Osmani (other spelling: Remzije Osmani , born September 10, 1971 in Mušutište , SFR Yugoslavia , today Kosovo ) is an Albanian folk musician from Kosovo. She is one of the most successful and famous interpreters of Albanian folklore music in the country today.

Career

Osmani made her first appearance with the song Lute lute nëna bijën in 1977. Her talent was discovered early on by her music teachers Ibrahim and Mustafë Hamiti, and she was very much supported by her Albanian teacher Ali Selmanaj. In her youth she joined the Afërdita cultural association in her home village and later the Jehona association in Theranda . Together with these clubs she went on various tours: with Afërdita in Kosovo and to Macedonia in 1978 and with Jehona in 1983.

Lulekuqja e Kosovës was their first album and was released in 1984 in collaboration with the singer Qamili i Vogël (stage name). Two years later she released her next album Kur bie Tupani i parë with the help of Radio Televizioni i Prishtinës (RTP) .

In 2000 Remzie Osmani performed with a folklore group at the Expo 2000 in Hanover .

As a result, twelve more albums were released, the last of which was released in 2009 with the title Dikur .

Private

Remzie Osmani is married and has two children. Her brother, Nexhat Osmani , is also a successful folk musician, with whom she has also worked and sung songs. She is of the Muslim faith.
