René Barbier (composer)
René Auguste Ernest Barbier (born July 12, 1890 in Namur , Belgium, † December 24, 1981 in Brussels ) was a Belgian composer .
Life
Barbier graduated from the Royal Conservatory of Liège as a student of Paul Gilson and Sylvain Dupuis . Later he was senior professor at the Namur Conservatory until 1963.
He composed numerous compositions, including cantatas , an oratorio , two masses, symphonic poems, ballets , an operetta and concertos for piano and orchestra.
He was also the conductor of several orchestras.
