René Bolf (born February 25, 1974 in Ostrava ) is a former Czech football player .

Career

In his youth, Bolf played for TJ Rožnov pod Radhoštěm, FC Vítkovice , VTJ Hranice, LeRK Brno and FC Karviná . In 1995, the long central defender went to Baník Ostrava , where he was only able to assert himself in his third year.

Sparta Prague brought him in 1999 , after a year and a half he returned to Ostrava and also became a fixture in the Czech national team . He was part of the squad for the 2004 European Championship , after which he moved to AJ Auxerre . The strong headed Bolf, whose weakness is his technical game, made his last international match so far on September 3, 2005 in a 2-0 draw in Romania .

In Auxerre he was part of the regular squad in his first season and scored four goals in 28 games. In the summer of 2005 he suffered a back injury and only made ten missions in the 2005/06 season. Also in the 2006/07 season he had injury concerns and was no longer used in the first team.

In November 2006 he agreed with the club management on an early termination of the contract, then got a contract offer from his former club Baník Ostrava but also from Sigma Olomouc . At the end of December 2006 he was seriously injured, paused for half a year and then returned to Ostrava. There, too, he struggled with a protracted injury, and his first appearance was only in March 2008.

At the end of his career he still played for MFK Karviná and ended his active career there in the winter break of 2012/13.
