René Despang

René Despang (born February 10, 1972 in Dresden ) is a former German politician ( NPD ). From 2006 to 2009 he was a member of the Saxon State Parliament for the National Democratic Party of Germany (NPD).

Life

Despang went through an agricultural training and worked in agriculture until the turn of 1989/90 . After completing his community service , he received training as a painter as part of a retraining measure.

Despang has been active in right-wing extremist organizations in Dresden since the early 1990s . He took part in demonstrations by the NPD, the Free Comradeships and the Junge Landsmannschaft East Prussia , and in 1996 he finally joined the NPD. At the Monday demonstrations against social cuts in Dresden, he regularly led a group of 10 to 20 young neo-Nazis who took part in the rallies with their own banners.

Until the end of 2006 Despang was NPD district chairman in Dresden and assessor in the “National Alliance Dresden”. In the spring of 2004 he ran unsuccessfully on the list of the "National Alliance of Dresden" for the city council. After the Saxon state elections in 2004 , he became a clerk in the NPD parliamentary group. For Uwe Leichsenring, who died in a car accident on August 30, 2006, he moved up to the state parliament as a member of the NPD . In the state elections in Saxony in autumn 2009 , he missed re-entry into the state parliament at 13th place on the list.

Despang was a member of the NPD from March 1996 to January 25, 2018 .

In 2015, Despang acted as the ringleader of the “ Free Comradeship Dresden ” during right-wing extremist blockades in front of a hotel in Laubegast. For three days, Despang and like-minded people blocked a former hotel that was to become a refugee shelter.
