René Stadelmann (born January 29, 1974 in Werthenstein in the canton of Lucerne ) is a former Swiss cyclist .

Career

As an amateur, he was a member of the VC Rollers Wolhusen club. Stadelmann started his career as a professional cyclist in 1999 with the Swiss team Ericsson-Villiger . For the 2000 season he then moved - like some of his other teammates - to the newly founded Phonak Hearing Systems team led by Jean-Jacques Loup . There he celebrated his only professional victory at the Grand Prix de Lausanne , a race on the national racing calendar, on September 10th . He only narrowly missed success at international level when he only had to admit defeat to his compatriot Roger Beuchat from the Post Swiss team on the second stage of the Hessen Tour . In the overall classification of the tour , Stadelmann came in sixth. In addition, in 2000 he drove three more placements among the top ten in competitions on the national calendar.

Right at the beginning of the new 2001 season, Stadelmann was able to draw attention to himself at the Tour de Langkawi in Malaysia in February when he was tenth on the ninth stage. In the Rhineland-Palatinate Tour , a fourth and a third stage ranked out. At the end of 2001 René Stadelmann ended his career as a professional racing driver.

In 2009, 2010 and 2011, Stadelmann and his teammates won the team championship in the Schötz 24-hour race .
