René Zia (born September 9, 1991 in Salzburg ) is an Austrian football player on the position of midfielder . He is currently active for USK Anif in the Regionalliga West .

Career

youth

Zia began his active career as a football player in 1997 with the Salzburg AK 1914 . There he went through several youth stations before he was handed over to the traditional club SV Austria Salzburg at the beginning of March 2001 . During his probationary period, which lasted until mid-June 2001, the then ten-year-old Zia showed what talents he had. At the SAK 1914 he played a few games in the junior division until the end of August 2001 before he switched to the youth team of SV Austria Salzburg at the beginning of September 2001.

At the 1994 UEFA Cup finalists, he went through various youth league classes up to 2005. When Salzburger Austria was de facto bought up by Red Bull for marketing reasons in 2005 and "reconstituted" as FC Red Bull Salzburg, Zia remained loyal to the club and has since played in the offspring of the practically newly founded club. He is currently active for the Salzburg U-19 team, which has its game operations in the Toto- sponsored U-19 youth league. Since 2006 he has also attended the club's own academy.

Club career

Zia's career as a professional football player began in 2008 when the youth brought him into the Red Bull Juniors squad. But he had to wait until April 2009 before he was finally allowed to play his first professional game. He made his professional debut on April 4, 2009 in the 1: 2 away defeat against FC Admira Wacker Mödling , when he was substituted on for Marin Matos in the 65th minute of the game . His first professional league game from the start was already on his second mission, in which he also went through the entire game, a 1: 4 home defeat against SC Austria Lustenau . This was followed by another five short appearances for the Red Bull Salzburg second team. He also came to 13 appearances in the U-19 youth league during the 2008/09 season . For the 2009/10 season , Zia was no longer in the Red Bull Juniors squad and was able to prove herself again in the BNZ U-19. In 15 games in the U-19 youth league, he scored 4 goals.

From the 2010/11 season Zia played for USK Anif in the Regionalliga West , after which he moved to SV Austria Salzburg in June 2012 . With the Salzburg team, he was promoted to professional football in 2015.

After Salzburg's relegation to the regional league, he returned to USK Anif in summer 2016 .

International

After he had already been nominated for the Austrian U-17 selection, Zia was appointed to the squad of the U-18 national team in his home country at the end of January 2009. He was with the team at training camp in Turkey's Antalya in the Lara district.

Under coach Andreas Heraf , he has already been called on to join the national team several times, but has not yet been used.
