Rena Sofer
Rena Sherel Sofer (born December 2, 1968 in Arcadia , California ) is an American actress .
Life
Rena Sofer is the daughter of an Orthodox rabbi and a psychology teacher. She moved to Pittsburgh when her parents divorced. At the age of 15, she became aware of a New York agent looking for new talent. She then starred in the television series Loving . As an actress, she has worked mostly in television series, including 24 , Coupling and Melrose Place . She was awarded an Emmy for her role in the US soap opera General Hospital as Lois Cerullo Ashton .
Sofer was married to Wallace Kurth , who played the role of her husband in the television series General Hospital , from 1995 until their divorce in 1997 . He is also her daughter's father. The actress has been married to director and producer Sanford Bookstaver since May 2003 . Their daughter was born in 2005.

Awards
Rena Sofer received two television awards in 1995 for her role in the series General Hospital . On the one hand the Daytime Emmy as Outstanding Supporting Actress in a drama series , on the other hand the Soap Opera Digest Award as Outstanding Leading Young Actress .
