history

As Blue Monarch in June 2007

The ship was a regular service for Paquet Cruises until 1977 , initially between Marseille and Haifa and from 1970 from Marseille to New York . At the same time, the Renaissance made cruises in the Mediterranean. In 1977 the ship was sold to Epirotiki Lines . As Homeric Renaissance , it became the shipping company's new flagship. In 1978 the shipping company chartered the ship to Costa Crociere . Costa Crociere used the ship as a World Renaissance until the early 1980s . In 1995 Awani Cruises bought the ship and started using it as Awani Dream in 1996 . In 1998 the ship was sold to Royal Olympic Cruise Line . The ship was named World Renaissance again . It was launched in 2004 and eventually sold to Pelorus Maritime for $ 3 million. The ship was renamed Grand Victoria . It was then chartered to Metropolis Tur until the end of 2006. In 2007 it was sold to Blue Moranch Shipping and renamed Blue Moranch . In 2009 the ship was decommissioned because it could not meet the requirements for SOLAS 2010 . The ship was launched and sold for $ 1.8 million in Alang , India for demolition in February 2010 . For the transfer to India it was renamed Maestro .
