Renate Brunswicker

Renate Brunswicker (born October 11, 1941 in Iserlohn ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and former member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia .

education and profession

After elementary school and high school , Renate Brunswicker attended a private business school . From 1957 to 1960 she completed an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk and an evening course in English with a translation exam. From 1960 to 1962 he studied language in Paris . From 1962 to 1963 she worked as an export manager. Another language course followed in New York from 1963 to 1964 . Brunswicker has been the owner of a foreign language school since 1975.

politics

Renate Brunswicker has been a member of the CDU since 1969. From 1981 to 1985 she was chairwoman of the Iserlohn city association of the women's union and from 1985 chairwoman of the local association in Iserlohn. From 1969 to 2014 she was a member of the Iserlohn City Council and from 1989 to 1994 she was the CDU parliamentary leader. From 1994 to 2009 Brunswicker was 1st Deputy Mayor of Iserlohn.

After she missed her entry into the state parliament in 62nd place on the CDU state list when she was elected to the 12th state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia on May 14, 1995 , Brunswicker acquired membership as a successor on November 28, 1995 for the departed member Jörg Twenhöven . For the election of the 13th state parliament on May 14, 2000 she ran unsuccessfully at number 78 on the CDU state list and left the state parliament at the end of the 12th electoral period on June 1, 2000.
