Renato Bussola is a former Italian skeleton pilot .

Renato Bussola has participated in international competitions since 1990. He contested his first race in February of that year as part of the Skeleton World Cup in Igls , where he was 37th. In December 1993 he finished ninth in Winterberg, his first top ten placement. The results in the following years varied greatly, ranging from the top ten to the top 30 results. The Italian achieved his best result in 1999 when he finished fourth in Igls. Bussola contested the last of his 35 World Cup races in 2002. The Italian started nine times with different results in the Skeleton World Championships . In 1990 he was 36th at Königssee , in 1991 in Igls 16th, 1992 in Calgary 22nd, 1995 in Lillehammer seventh, 1996 in Calgary 14th, 1998 in St. Moritz Elfter, 1999 in Altenberg 18th and 2000 in Igls 25th.

Bussola was one of the most successful Italian skeleton pilots at all. In 1993 he won the silver medal behind Marco Filippin at the Italian Championships . In his most successful period between 1995 and 1997, Bussola won three titles in a row. In the next six years he reached second place five times (1998, 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2003) and third place once (1999).

After the national championships in 2003 Bussola ended his active career. Today he works as a trainer for the Austrian club BSC Stubai .
