Renaud Verley (born November 9, 1945 in Lille ) is a French film and theater actor.

life and career

In 1965 he stood for the first time in a small supporting role in the comedy 100 million in the bucket in front of the camera. He played his best-known roles as Telemachos in Franco Rossi's multi-part television film The Odyssey (1968) and as the idealistic but Nazi-tormented entrepreneur's son Günther von Essenbeck in Luchino Visconti's classic film Die Verdammten (1969). During this time, Verley was mostly used in the role of the friendly young man, a departure from the horror thriller A Dead Man Laughs Last from 1973, where his character takes bloody revenge on his vicious family. At times he achieved greater popularity in his home country, where he starred in a number of teenage films.

From the mid-1970s, the film and television offers for Verley decreased significantly, whereupon he increasingly turned to theater work. He last appeared in front of the camera in 2003 for a French television series. His older brother Bernard Verley is also an actor.
